Sispar also removed the old site office, which GUBOH had described as a ‘decrepit carbuncle’, from its position opposite the Beach House and replaced it with a new harbourmaster’s office located just north of the public slipway. “These were demands made by GUBOH, the harbour residents, and Greystones Chamber at the Harbour Liaison Committee meeting on September 13 last. It is very gratifying to see Sispar deliver so quickly on their agreement to do this,” said GUBOH spokesman Basil Miller. “Sispar has also been installing public lighting at the south harbour over the past two weeks. We hope this means the harbour will open to the public shorlty, and urge Sispar to speed up work to ensure this while there is still a prospect of some good weathe

New harbourmaster's office installed at Greystones Harbour

THIS MORNING Sispar craned in a new harbourmaster's office building to the Greystones Harbour construction site. This means the decrepit carbuncle sitting right across from the Beach House will soon be gone. This was a demand from GUBOH, the harbour residents, and Greystones Chamber at the HLC meeting on Sept 13 last. Nice to see Sispar deliver so quickly on their agreement to do this.

Jerome Brarda aims to smash Miami-Bimini speed record in 42' Supercat

MIAMI, 6 August 2015 — WORLD FAMOUS offshore powerboat racer Jérôme Brarda aims to beat the world speed record for his class between Miami and Bimini Island this year. Brarda will drive his 42-foot Supercat from Miami to Bimini Island and back on 31 October next, hoping to crack the existing time for the run with the help of an ace new throttleman. The event will screen on live TV and via Internet streaming. Irish production company InterZone Pictures will use the speed record footage in a new series of documentaries it plans to produce, focused on the sport of offshore powerboat racing, its history and folklore.
